Thane storm overflow into India, 33 people died

On 30/12, at least 33 people were killed by the hurricane with gust up to 140km/hour accompanied by heavy rain poured into the state of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry region in southern India.

Wind storm was named Thane damage the worst to the Cuddalore, a city of Chenai, Tamil Nadu state capital about 170 kilometers, with 21 people died; in Puducherry have seven people died... Most of the victims die down walls or electric shock.

Storms accompanied by 1.5 m high waves have spilled many large trees, power poles, causing thousands of fishermen houses were damaged, and cause power outages in many areas in the state of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry region .

Premier state of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa ordered the state government spent 1.5 billion rupees (U.S. $ 3 million) for emergency relief for the population in the storm swept through the state's./.
