Officials and local media said more than 300 towns and villages were lost electricity. Electricity supplier EVN said they are struggling to restore power supply in western Bulgaria because of very strong winds hindering the efforts of staff power.

Bulgaria state news agency BTA said the government had to evacuate about 100 children from East Semkovo resort in Rila mountains southwest Bulgaria. Meanwhile, the civil defense forces evacuated residents near the city of Sliven Ichera village was flooded by the overflow from the river Luda Kamchiya.
Ministry of Public Works and Regional Development of Bulgaria encouraged people to travel restrictions in the 60 cm thick snow cover many areas of the country and the temperature had down to negative 10 degrees C.
Meteorologists said snow hydrology will continue to fall sharply across the country and temperature can continue below 0 degrees C. /.
