40 people died in landslides in Papua New Guinea

According to AFP, local media on 25/1 reported about 60 people may have died in landslides in the Pacific island of Papua New Guinea.

Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Peter O'neill was immediately available at the scene.

According to sources, 40 bodies were found while 20 others still missing. Director National Center for Disaster Papua New Guinea Mosi said Martin still likely victims, but could not determine the exact number.

He said: "The numbers fluctuate constantly and we need to redefine, but the casualties could be huge". /.
